A FAMILY LEGACY
Don Paco Lopez Bakery is a third-generation Mexican bakery built on tradition, passion, and decades of baking excellence. Our story began in 1932 in the small town of Chila de las Flores, Puebla, Mexico, where Angel Lopez passed down his family's recipes for traditional Mexican breads. In 1976, Francisco Lopez, known as Don Paco, immigrated to the United States, bringing his heritage with him. On June 29, 1991, he opened his first bakery in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, a neighborhood deeply rooted in community. With the support of his wife, Leonila, they built a hardworking family dedicated to the craft of Mexican artisan baking.
Now in their 90s, Francisco and Leonila Lopez remain at the heart of the bakery, ensuring that every batch of bread is freshly baked to bring the taste of Mexico to families throughout New York. Over the years, their children have helped grow the business, opening a second location in Spanish Harlem in 2000 and a third in Westbury, Long Island, in 2024.
Don Paco Lopez Bakery is proud to offer authentic Mexican pastries, including our famous Conchas—sweet, seashell-shaped breads that have earned recognition from The New York Times, The Today Show, ABC Localish, and more. We are committed to sharing our culture, our tradition, and our love of Mexican bread with our community.
